Global Poker Review – Avoid. Global Poker operates using a “sweepstakes” system in which players effectively buy play money and have the equivalent of real money added to their accounts. The system is easy to understand once you get used to it, but I have concerns about playing at this site with regards to some of the terms and conditions and other things I found – specifically issues with payment options, limits on withdrawals, and data security.

What is Global Poker?
Legal online poker rooms are hard to come by in the US. Global Poker brings legal poker fun online across the country thanks to a dual-currency system built into their sweepstakes setup. This means our Global Poker review can honestly tell you that legal online poker rooms are ready for you today!
So who is Global Poker?
Launched in early 2017, Global Poker brought a new online poker room to the US. Seizures palace las vegas. Along with their sister site, Chumba Casino, US players can play online poker and a bunch of online casino games using their sweepstakes platforms.
Now, VGW, the parent company for both sites, is a leader in social gaming. Their innovating sweepstakes technology enables you to win real prizes when playing online poker at Global Poker or casino games online with Chumba.
Admittedly, Global Poker sweepstakes poker rooms are a bit of a grey area. Still, though, they are legal in every state except for Washington, where the state deemed their sweepstakes model as gambling instead. In any case, this legal technicality across the rest of the US means you can play Global Poker online today.

Global Poker Review: Gold Coins & Sweeps
When you purchase Gold Coins, Global Poker lays on Sweeps Coins as a bonus for your purchase. This was easy and instant during our Global Poker review.
So what does this mean? Basically, your first step is to buy Gold Coins to fill our account. Then, depending on your Gold Coins Package, receive Sweeps Coins on top. Now, here’s where it gets interesting. Gold Coins aren’t redeemable for cash prizes; just use them to play Global Poker games and tournaments. That said, use your Sweeps Coins to claim prizes if you win.
Here’s the breakdown:

- Thus, get free Sweeps Coins whenever you buy Gold Coins. Remember, you can’t buy Sweeps Coins directly.
- Finally, cash in your Sweeps Coins to redeem prizes for actual cash.
Global Poker Review: Games & Tournaments
While they may not offer as many options as some online poker rooms, our Global Poker review found that all the major poker types are here. That means your favorites, like Texas Holdem and Omaha, are included. Below, check out the full list of online poker games at Global Poker.
Global Poker Review
- Texas Holdem
- Omaha
- Jackpot Sit N Go
- Stud
- Razz
- 5 Card Draw
- Badugi
- HORSE

Texas Holdem
Anyone familiar with poker should know Holdem. Almost certainly, Texas Holdem is the most popular form of poker these days, especially in online poker rooms. This game gives each poker player two cards in their hand, with five community cards on the table. These cards are shared by every player and are revealed over four rounds.
Naturally, each round has its own name. First, players can ante-up based on what’s in their hands during the preflop. Then, three cards are laid down in the flop. Next, a fourth comes out on the turn. Finally, the last card comes down the river. This last one can make or break a hand and often has surprising effects on the outcome of a hand.
Omaha Poker
Similar to Holdem, Omaha has the same basic setup. The key difference, however, is that each player gets four hole cards, not two. That said, players can only use two of them in connection with the community cards. So, choose wisely!
Jackpot Sit N Go
This poker game is fast-paced and a rush of excitement. In Jackpot Sit N Go tournaments, each game has three players. Here, each player starts with the same amount of chips (500). Plus, the prize pool is randomly determined before the game starts. In the end, the winner is whoever has all the chips.
Stud
Breaking from the small hands of other poker games, Stud gives each player seven cards during a round. However, the winner is determined by who has the best five-card hand possible.
Razz
In Razz poker games, things get shaken up a bit. Here, the winner is the best Ace-to-Five low hand. This is won at what is called Showdown. During the game, players are dealt seven cards. However, only the best five-card low hand possible determines the winner.
5 Card Draw
Though Holdem is the favorite these days, 5 Card Draw is known as the oldest, original form of poker games. Everyone is dealt five cards and can trade in up to three unless a player has an Ace, in which case they can exchange four. This is a great introduction to poker for players brand-new to the game.
Badugi
Like 5 Card, Badugi is a form of draw poker. In this game, players must make the best low-hand of different suits. A key difference is that players are dealt four cards. As Badugi aims for the best low-hand instead of having a high poker hand, knowing the rules unique to Badugi is essential.
HORSE
Surely, you know the basketball variant of the same name. In a similar vein, HORSE poker offers different poker game types instead of different positions on the court. Namely, a poker game of HORSE means playing through games of Holdem, Omaha, Razz, Stud, and Eight-or-Better.
8 Game Mix
Just like HORSE, 8 Game Mix offers a rotation of the same poker game variants. Plus, this version includes No-Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and Deuce to Seven Triple Draw.

Global Poker Review: Global Poker App Highlights
For anyone who wants to play online poker, it’s clear a solid mobile poker experience is a must. As you’d expect, our Global Poker review found that Global Poker on mobile is top-notch. However, mobile Global Poker is entirely browser-based. That means there’s no app per se, but rather you can seamlessly play in your mobile browser, on any device.
That said, beware app store scams. In both Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store, there are apps that purport to be an official Global Poker app. However, they’re not! So, avoid them and do not download any Global Poker app. There’s no such thing, and you will be scammed out of your hard-earned money.
Again, while there may not be a true Global Poker app, the mobile Global Poker experience is pretty great. You can log into your account the same way you would on a desktop browser and jump right into an online poker room.

Remember, any Global Poker review that suggests you download a Global Poker app is a scam! There is no app, so just play in your mobile browser.
Global Poker Deposit & Withdrawal Options
What Global Poker review would be complete without knowing how to fund your account? In short, none!
First off, unlike traditional online poker platforms, you will never deposit into your account. Instead, you just need to purchase Gold Coins in order to play. Now, to get Gold Coins, you have a few payment options.
Global Poker Payment Options
- Visa
- MasterCard
- Skrill
- Worldpay
- Bank transfer
Additionally, our Global Poker review found PayPal used to be an option. Unfortunately, it seems the two companies parted ways, and it’s uncertain if it was an amicable breakup. So, at this time, PayPal is not an option. That said, Skrill is a certified online wallet, so if that’s what you’re looking for, check them out for your Global Poker payments.
So, what can you expect for withdrawal options?
While you won’t be able to get your winnings put back on your credit card, Global Poker provides bank deposits to pay out any winnings directly to your bank account. Also, if you like to keep your accounts separate from your online poker play, you can get winnings sent to your Skrill or Worldpay accounts.
Honestly, keeping your regular funds and your play funds separate is a smart move to ensure you play within your means. Therefore, think about having a dedicated online poker wallet to make sure you play responsibly.
Global Poker Review: Customer Service
Here’s an important question: What do you do if you need support?
Global Poker provides users with 24-hour email assistance at [email protected]. Likewise, the Global Poker Facebook page responds quickly to messages based on our Global Poker review.
If you prefer forum discussion, check out the Global Poker forum at Twoplustwo. Note, this was definitely our least favorite option, but it does show Global Poker wants to provide customers with multiple options. Note, forum replies are definitely the slowest, sometimes taking a few days or weeks.
Lastly, although there’s no phone number, there is a good FAQ section on-site that provides answers to most of the questions users will have. Head over there to see if your question has already been answered.
